Subject: Repeal Bill C-69 & Bill C-48

Dear Prime Minister Carney and Members of the Liberal Party,

I am writing as a concerned Canadian to urge your government to repeal Bill C-69, the Impact Assessment Act, often referred to as the "No More Pipelines" law, and Bill C-48, the Oil Tanker Moratorium Act, to unlock Canada’s energy potential, create jobs, and drive economic growth. These laws have stifled investment, cost thousands of jobs, and hindered our ability to become an energy superpower, as you have promised.

Bill C-69 has created a complex and burdensome regulatory process that deters private investment in energy infrastructure. According to the C.D. Howe Institute, Canada has lost over $100 billion in energy investments and 7,000 km of proposed pipelines since 2015, equivalent to 4.5% of GDP. Bill C-48, banning oil tankers off British Columbia’s northern coast, further restricts our ability to export energy to global markets, ignoring Indigenous support for projects like those proposed by the Eagle Spirit Energy Corridor. These policies have led to the cancellation of 16 LNG projects and the loss of over 100,000 jobs, devastating communities and weakening our economy.

Repealing these laws would signal to investors that Canada is open for business, enabling projects like Alberta’s proposed bitumen pipeline and fostering job creation in energy, construction, and related sectors. As Conservative MP John Barlow has noted, Bill C-69 is “anti-energy, anti-growth, anti-Canada,” and its repeal is critical to restoring investor confidence.

I respectfully urge you to:

  • Repeal Bill C-69 to streamline approvals for pipelines and energy projects.

  • Repeal Bill C-48 to allow responsible energy exports from Canada’s west coast.

  • Collaborate with provinces and Indigenous communities to develop energy corridors that create jobs and respect local interests.

Canadians are counting on your leadership to prioritize economic prosperity and fulfill your vision of Canada as an energy superpower. Please act swiftly to repeal these restrictive laws. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

[Your Full Name]
